Engagement / Couple Photography – tips on what and how – Key West & Florida Keys

Yesterday we watched another great video from famous Jasmine Star on tips for engagement photography. I decided to write a little post about how it works for us so I can direct future couples to this page and it will create a better mutual understanding what to expect from the photo shoot…

Tell Your Story

– let’s look in the past and dream about the future…how you met, what’s your favorite activity you do together, what is planned or dreamed of in the future?

Pick Your Location

– we don’t want to choose for you – we might give you ideas but the location should be a part of you – it can be a park, a library, a coffee shop, a beach, a church, sailing boat, track field, bar or restaurant…just make sure it’s ok for us to photograph there 🙂 we don’t want to run into trouble…

Feel Awesome – Look Awesome

– don’t over think your wardrobe for the photo shoot. Yes, bring a change of outfits (usually casual & dressy)…We love pastel and bright colors, patterns…a piece on each of you in matching color is always nice but sometimes “too matchy” makes you look like twins 😦 Hats, belts, hair pieces, shoes…
Good tip we heard yesterday is for the girl to get on her wedding trial for hair and manicure…then you can see how it will look in the pics at your wedding and make adjustments…

Be On Time

– we photograph mostly in natural light so this one is especially important if we are planning a sunset photo shoot or leaving on a boat/train/etc. There is only one sunset/sunrise a day so if you’re late…well…Image

Have Fun

– this is the most important for us – that YOU TWO WILL HAVE FUN…we want you to relax, enjoy each other, kiss, hug, play, laugh (you can cry but only from happiness 🙂 and be yourself…

Talk To Us

– communication is a key – in your relationship (yeah, we know you know) but also with us (your wedding / engagement photographer). So please, talk to us – ideas, questions, comments, ANYTHING that crosses your mind…you can call us at 305-896-4958 or email or use our Contact Form on our website
